CMTCA is committed to continuous quality improvement, which means regularly reviewing and updating our accreditation standards. The CMTCA accreditation standards were launched five years ago, and it is time to incorporate needed updates and make any adjustments that will improve the standards.
This process will involve:
reviewing criteria for clarity and to ensure they can be applied consistently
adjusting criteria to reflect any changes in the profession and leading developments in the education of massage therapy students
making sure that criteria effectively address any issues identified in the education of massage therapists
CMTCA will gather stakeholder input, and analyze internal learnings from our experiences in accrediting programs. The standards review process will begin in the coming weeks, and any revisions that are required will be released sometime in the Spring of 2023.
