The Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation (CMTCA) is pleased to announce its ongoing exploration of a national entry‑to‑practice examination for massage therapy in Canada. Over the past several years, the CMTCA has engaged in consultations with regulators, educators, exam providers, and other key stakeholders to assess the governance and operational requirements of a unified national exam.
Building on this foundational work, the CMTCA is launching a National Examination Exploration Committee (NEEC). This committee will examine the governance, structural and implementation considerations required to support the potential development of a national entry‑to‑practice examination for the profession.
Regulated jurisdictions, current examiners and sector leaders are invited to apply to serve in an advisory capacity and contribute to this national initiative. Committee members will contribute insights and recommendations related to exam development, administration, and alignment with regulatory and professional standards across Canada.
Individuals interested in participating in the committee are encouraged to review the Terms of Reference and are asked to submit an application to info@cmtca.ca by July 31, 2026. Please include a Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae with your application.
